Core Principles

1. Decentralized living and organizing

Each individual, group, and community within Ⓐbrinken will self-organize and confederate freely within the bounds of our core principles. Issues that affect the broader community will be discussed and resolved in common meetings, through delegation, active participation and consensus.

2. Freedom and equality in action

We stand for freedom of expression and association. Spontaneity, intuition, free initiative and autonomy is celebrated. Our freedom is the freedom of all; if ones actions oppresses another, we consider that oppression, and not freedom.

We believe that hierarchies, formal and informal, are always destructive and stifling. We work actively and continuously to prevent and dissolve all forms of social hierarchies and oppressive tendencies.

3. Diligence, care and attentiveness

We are in this for the long fight. A strong focus on community care and solidarity is vital in our struggle against oppression. We know that it takes conscious effort to prevent and resolve conflict and burnout within our activist community.

By caring for each other's lives and well-being; by embracing each other's differences and flaws; by listening, learning from mistakes and being open to criticism; by setting boundaries and standing up for ourselves and one another, we will, slowly and steadily, build the foundation for an anarchist world order.

4. Local and global autonomy and solidarity

Solidarity is our most powerful weapon against oppression. We practice active solidarity and mutual aid among each other, the local communities, and oppressed people everywhere, together with our comrades all around the world.

The grounds and houses at Ⓐbrinken are primarily there for marginalized groups who experience oppression, harassment and exclusion in most places in broader society. This project can, and should, serve as an opposing example to the destructive and isolating world we currently live in.

5. Focus on nature and biodiversity

We protect, preserve, and live in solidarity with all life. Therefore, it is imperative that we care for the rich biodiversity in the area, by using eco-friendly and minimally destructive building and living practices. Social and cultural events will be held with little to no disturbance to the local flora and fauna.
